Positive Behaviour Support

Positive Behaviour Support

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) at Kevria Clinical Service is a person-centred approach that focuses on understanding the reasons behind behaviours of concern and supporting individuals to build safer, more effective ways to communicate their needs. Rather than simply reacting to behaviours, PBS looks at the whole person — including their environment, communication style, relationships, and wellbeing, to identify what may be influencing behaviour and how these factors can be improved.

Our practitioners work closely with participants, families, and support teams to develop individualised Behaviour Support Plans that promote quality of life, independence, and skill development. This includes identifying triggers, teaching replacement skills, improving communication, and creating supportive environments that reduce the likelihood of behaviours occurring.

Positive Behaviour Support is grounded in evidence-based practice and NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission guidelines
